Creator, Creation and Infinity

Creator and Creation induce each other and are inseparably one. In our world the human is the creator and the artwork his creation, but in the cosmos the human is the creation. In a creative process, which we call art, we imitate the big principles of creation and discover the laws of the universe. Through this process we learn to see the big in the small and the small in the big things and make possible the experience of transcendence. Art is a process of awakening, a path to shine through the illusions of the thousands things and recognize the nature of the essence in all. It is a way to get to know the outer cosmos and at the same time to discover and explore the infinite inner cosmos inside ourselves.

My Vision of Art

During the time in which I was busy with art, music, philosophy and spirituality, there were two things which started to fascinate me more and more: the topics fractals and harmonics. In both topics I felt something very primordial and utmost truthful and I always had the feeling that through them I could gain deep insights into the great mystery of life and existence. Their integrating power seemed to me like a guidepost into the future, where all the shattered disciplines of human endeavor rejoin and where aesthetic, science and spirituality are again united as one.

Even though both the fractals and the harmonics seem to be emerging from the very same primordial principles, for a long time I couldn't find the connection between them, until one day I came across a third topic, which intrigued me equally: Sacred Geometry.

On first sight it seemed to be an extra field of knowledge by itself, which to study thoroughly, the time and passion of an entire human life would be necessary. Nevertheless I felt that it was leading into the same direction, in which the other two topics were also pointing, and so I engaged myself with it. I especially owe to the lecture of the books "The Ancient Secret Of The Flower Of Life" my deep understanding of the meaning and inner coherence of Sacred Geometry, which significantly expanded my understanding of reality and creation once more. But only after several months I suddenly realized that the fractal system as well the harmonic proportions are direct information systems from the Flower of Life - in a wonderful way the missing element was revealed to me, which underlies all the topics I was busy with during the years. They are the "patterns of creation", the information systems encoded in the flower of life and the related levels of creation and dimensions of consciousness, which I now wa nt to explore, experience and express with my art.

The media, which are used to create artworks, always change depending on location, culture and time periods. Today there is a great number of media available to us that we can use to express our thoughts and experiences. Fine Arts and music accompanied my entire life and through the medium film I found a possibility to combine both. Through these media I now try to make the "patterns of creation" visible, audible and experience-able, which are usually hidden from our outer senses.

It seems to me that we human have long enough torn, analyzed and pulled the world apart, whether in science or in art. With my artistic work I wish to refer to the entire picture and put the holistic-whole and holy into focus again. Hence it is my aim to connect the knowledge and experience of all different disciplines through the expression of different media, in order to make possible a direct experience of the existence of other creation and consciousness levels.

Art in the third Millenium

What role does art play and what role should it play?

In today's information-era time and the pace of our life seem to accelerate so enormously, that nobody is able to gain an overview and has an idea of what is currently happening on this planet. The development of human race is undergoing a rapid process of individualization and the result is that thing on all different levels, also in art, become more manifold and complex, so that meanings, purposes and therefore the definitions are drifting apart. The contrast of that what makes up a human being becomes more and more extreme. Art as a mirror of consciousness and development changes its definition, as the human change themselves.

Since Malevich's "Black Square" art in the 20th century has taken a drastic turn. It is not any longer necessarily associated with the representation of an ideal, which for many eras was the main task of traditional art. Quite in the opposite, art is nowadays used to break taboos and to picture the realistic and even the ugly. This process was necessary in order to treat all those topics, which are unpleasant and were suppressed by us. It was a great relief to speak out and to criticize forbidden topics of our society, so that, after enough people have been aroused, a change could be made. As science and its analytic principles has made a great contribution to explain different aspects of nature and men in a mechanical way, art has made a great contribution to reveal the emotions of men with all its fear, joy, desires and abysses.

Our understanding of art today is therefore almost impossible to be compared with how we used to understand art in the century before or even earlier. The only statement also suitable for the 20th century was, that no matter what art represents, it always reflects the state of consciousness, from which the artwork has been created. So art of the 20th century reflects the zeitgeist and the consciousness of people in that time period, and like in every period there were a few artists, who were far ahead from the consciousness of the mass.

The property of art to give new impulses, to break taboos and to explore undiscovered possibilities, is an important driving force for the development of the entire human race. Great artists as well as great scientists and thinkers all had a vision and access to a certain aspect of truth, which was still unrevealed to others. True art and true science are in their essence equal, because both are driven by the same desire for truth. Truth is at all times desirable, because nothing is older than the truth and nothing is more actual than the truth. Hence in my opinion, it is a significant task of art to constantly rephrase the truth anew, in order to make it understandable by the state of consciousness of the present people.

What does art offer today, that is really new? All the taboos are already treated and what more taboos can be broken? How provocative must an artist act, to arouse the attention of the mass? In my opinion nowadays still many people jump on a train, which has already left last millennium. For if all dogma are broken up and all the walls are torn down, what shall happen afterwards? If all limiting behavior and all narrow thinking have been criticized and named wrong, what should people hold on to? For great freedom also means much disorientation and if we let go of something old, then there must be something new coming in instead.

In my opinion it is the task of today's art, to be a guidepost, in order to show that all the new things we wish to come into our lives, need to be created by ourselves. We cannot keep on just analyzing and go further into details, if therewith the separation becomes only bigger and in the end we all, separated from each other, are unable to see the entire picture. We cannot break any more taboos, if there are no real ones left and the acts of provocation only result in disorientation and uncertainty. Art, as well as science and especially the religions, should nowadays, based on their knowledge and experience, open up a new direction towards a state of wholeness, true health and bliss. In the third millennium it is time to gather all the fragments, which were shattered during the ages, and integrate them into a whole.
